Our Team
David Thomson
Founder. Original Code Consulting was founded as a National Instruments Alliance Member by David Thomson in 1997. For many years, David grew OCC as a side business while also holding full-time jobs at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (joint with the University of Colorado) and then later at Droplet Measurement Technologies. In 2013, OCC became a full-time endeavor, and in 2015, it expanded by bringing Ted Anderson to the OCC team as a partner.
Ted Anderson

In addition, he has worked with C, SQL, Matlab, UML, FORTRAN, ArcGIS, as well as ANSYS FLUENT, STAR-CCM+ and various numerical modeling systems for fluid dynamics computations. He has spent several years developing LabVIEW and as an instrumentation engineer on systems including boundary-layer wind tunnels, jet engine turbine blade test stands, and various atmospheric research projects including the SPIN ice nucleation instrument. Ted studied engineering at Princeton University, is fluent in Spanish, proficient in Portuguese and French, and has considerable experience in field support for numerous projects around the world.
Social Responsibility, Policies, and Compliance
Original Code Consulting takes its responsibilities to its local and global community quite seriously. Since its founding, OCC has maintained a policy of earmarking 1% of gross revenues for various non-profit causes. In addition, in 2006 OCC committed to being carbon-neutral. Solar panels and wind energy contribute to this goal, with the remainder of OCC's carbon footprint managed through annual carbon offset donations.
Original Code Consulting supports and complies with the United Nations Global Compact and its “10 Principles” regarding human rights, labor standards, the environment, and anti-corruption. OCC also complies with the EICC Code of Conduct, and complies with applicable laws for ethical business practices, environmental responsibility, workplace health and safety, and human resources. In addition, OCC has policies in place for continuity and disaster recovery, customer notification of changes, and other business best practices.
